Questions & answers
Margate removals FAQs
The things people ask most before booking a house, flat or coastal move in Margate — grouped so you can find yours quickly.
House & flat moves
Do you move houses across all of Margate and Thanet?
Yes — the seafront and Old Town, Cliftonville, Westbrook, Garlinge, and round towards Broadstairs and Ramsgate. A seafront terrace, a converted flat, a Westbrook semi, a Garlinge new-build. We survey the move first so the crew, van and plan match the property.
Can you handle seafront terraces and Old Town lanes?
That is our home ground. The terraces are tall and the lanes narrow, with limited parking, so we plan where the van can sit, which loads need an early start, and how to get furniture down a period staircase without a mark.
Do you move seafront and conversion flats?
Yes — Cliftonville and the seafront are full of them. Lifts, communal stairs, shared front doors and permit parking all get booked and planned before the day, and the shared areas are protected during the move.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
We do — beds, wardrobes, flat-pack and anything that needs breaking down to move safely, rebuilt at the other end. Blankets, straps and corner protection are standard.
Man & van and single items
What is the difference between man and van and a full removal?
Man and van is a driver and a van sized to a smaller job — a room, a few items, a flat, a collection. A full removal brings a larger crew, more protection and a survey. Tell us what is moving and we will point you at the right one.
Do you move single, awkward items like a piano?
Yes — including the heavy and awkward ones. An upright piano, a fridge-freezer, a wardrobe up a seafront stairwell. Two people, the right technique, and protection on the item and the walls.
Do you cover the rest of Thanet?
Yes — Margate and CT9 are home, but a job frequently runs round to Broadstairs and Ramsgate or up the A28 towards Canterbury. Give us both addresses and we will factor the trip in.
London to Margate & storage
Do you do the London-to-Margate move?
It is one of the most common jobs we do now. We run the whole day end to end — the tricky city load-out, the run down the A2/M2, and the coastal drop-in — from a London flat or house to a seaside home. There is a dedicated page for it.
What if my coast completion date slips?
Common on a cross-region move. Our storage bridges the gap — your things go into clean, dry storage after the London move-out and come out when the Margate place is ready. Move-and-store folds into one booking.
What kind of storage do you offer?
Clean, dry, secure storage — a few boxes, a whole home, or the gap between a move-out and a move-in — sized to what you keep, with an inventory taken as goods go in.
Quotes & European moves
How do I get a quote and how quickly do you reply?
Send the details through the quote form — what you are moving, both addresses and anything that shapes the day. We read every enquiry and reply by email, usually within a working day or two. For bigger or cross-region moves we arrange a survey first.
Why do you not show prices on the site?
Because an honest price depends on the specifics — size, access, seafront parking, distance, storage. A headline figure would mislead. Send the details and you will get a clear, itemised quote for your actual move.
Do you move homes and businesses to Europe?
Yes — European removals depart from Margate to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. The Kent coast is close to Dover and the Eurotunnel, an honest head start, and we handle the customs paperwork for you.
Who handles the customs paperwork after Brexit?
We do. A move to the EU now needs a customs declaration and an inventory; we prepare the paperwork and guide you through what you need to provide. The international hub explains how it works.
