Margate has changed, and a big part of that is people moving down from London. A Hackney flat becomes a Cliftonville conversion; a family trades a city terrace for a house near the beach. The London-to-Margate move is a long day with two very different ends — a tricky city load-out and a coastal drop-in — and it goes far better when the whole thing is planned as one job rather than two halves.
That is what we set this service up to do. We know both ends: the London parking, permits and stairwells, and the Margate seafront lanes and access. City sales and coast purchases rarely complete on the same day. Clean, dry storage bridges the gap, and we can fold the move and the store into a single booking rather than two.
Why so many make the move
We stay out of the estate-agent brochure, but there is no pretending Margate has not drawn people in — the beach, the Old Town, Turner Contemporary and Dreamland, a creative scene and more room than the city. Do you specialise in the London-to-Margate move?
It is one of the most common moves we do now. Margate has drawn a lot of people down from London — the "DFL" relocation — and we run that move properly: a city flat or house to a seaside home, with the long day planned end to end rather than improvised.
Can you handle the London end — parking, stairs, a lift?
Yes. Loading in the city is often the hard part, so we survey the London property first — the stairs, the lift, the permit parking — and arrange a bay suspension where it is needed. The idea is that the van loads cleanly and the coast end is the easy bit.
What if my coast completion date slips?
